Expedition at sea

Hi Sea Fans!

I've been out of touch a little, but check out this blog: http://joidesresolution.org/blog/280 and you'll see why...

Remember the polystyrene/styrofoam sculpture competition I told you about a few blogs ago?  Well, I got to  see all of the top sculptures going down into the sea firsthand... AND see what they looked like after being under so much pressure.
This is a cup they sent down.
This is the cup after it came back up again.
On land, we have 1 atmosphere of pressure on us, but as soon as you go underwater, you have 2 atmospheres and then after 10 metres, 3 atmospheres...so every 10 metres down means you add another atmosphere of pressure!  Hectic!

Well, Sea Fans, enjoy reading the blog on the Joides Resolution and let me know what you think.  Would any of you like to have a job on an expedition ship like this one??

Chat soon.
Cheers
